ANTICIPATE. COMMUNICATE. COOPERATE.

COMPANY HISTORY & PROFILE
FAIRSTAR was incorporated in July 2005. From 2006 until 2008, FAIRSTAR operated from a shipyard in Malta where the FJORD and FJELL were under construction. The original Dutch mariners who joined FAIRSTAR in those years played a key role in building and commissioning our ships. FAIRSTAR is proud to say the men who are sailing on our ships today built them. In September 2007 FAIRSTAR’s head office was established. From these headquarters in Rotterdam we manage and operate both essels under Dutch flag.

All engineering and project management or offshore transports are executed in house as well. Holland has long been a leader in the development of complex engineering solutions for the marine heavy transport business. FAIRSTAR is committed  to investing in the engineers and operations specialists, we will require to continue to maintain this important Dutch tradition.

FLEET
Both our vessels FJORD and FJELL were converted from semi-submersible barges to self-propelled, open-stern, semi-submersible heavy transport vessels in Malta. The FJORD entered into service in the offshore heavy transport segment in March 2008. The FJELL sailed away for its maiden voyage in May 2009. The FJORD and FJELL are amongst the world’s largest semi-submersible heavy transport vessels
and are able to transport high-value, high spec floating and non-floating cargoes over long ocean distances, worldwide. In June 2010, FAIRSTAR entered into a contract with Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. in China to build two 50,000 DWT open-stern, semi-submersible vessels. In September 2010, the first steel of our third vessel FORTE was cut. The FORTE will be delivered in March  2012. Our fourth vessel FINESSE will be built at the same yard and is scheduled to come into service in October 2012.

FOCUS
